Be the Light!


"So that Christ may dwell in your heart through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge- that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God."

(NIV Ephesians 3:17-19)


"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen" (NIV Ephesians 3:20,21)


Dear Friends in Christ: There are many who are called by the name Christian. Yet, many have no experience or understanding of what that means for them personally and even corporately in the body of Christ - the Church universal. If we as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ do not LIVE out the life described by the Apostle Paul in the passages of Ephesians 3, how will they know the immeasurable power of God if they do not see it working in us?


In my Underground Angel interview with Dan Gaffney from WXDE radio out of Lewes, Delaware I was amazed that he found it so difficult to accept that someone's convictions/values do not have to come out in a defiant, brash, or violent manner. Now, first of all I want to thank him for giving me the interview to discuss ways our country can bridge the great divide we face today in ideologies and politics. It was fun to spar back and forth with him on these issues. Still, he just communicated how difficult it is to understand how people can stand strong for their beliefs without stirring up a lot of drama and angry divisiveness. True, our media loves to pull out these types of stories because the draw in large audiences by grabbing our attention.


The truth of the matter is we can speak the truth and stay true to our convictions without creating "the soap opera" effect. Yes, when we speak the truth, heads will be turned and we hope people will listen and pay attention. Our emphasis and push should be on sharing the truth in love rather than sparking a war of words. Often, it is how we share the truth in humility that allows the fullness and power of God to be on display! Our message is not about us! It is about "Christ who blankets us with his deep love that surpasses our understanding!"


Jesus spoke the Parable of the Weeds (Matthew 13:24-30) which I shared in a recent blog. The sad reality is that the enemy is seeking to divide us in our country today; and as sad as this sounds he is using Christians to do it! Our enemy is also constantly working on the hearts of all of humanity to get caught up in and with "the weeds." The weeds are those influences that pull us away from God's mission, purpose, and power. They are that constant little voice in the back of our minds saying, "Did God really say, that you should?....Certainly you can, you will not die! For God knows if you do this- your eyes will be opened and you will be like God" (Genesis 3:1-7). Well, we know how this turned out for our first parent: Adam and Eve. The truth is the same will happen to those of us who call ourselves Christians today, but do not strive to live according to His will and plan.


My prayer and hope for Underground Angel Ministry is that we can start a national conversation among Christians in the United States and stand up for the Word of God that it may be reflected in our dialogue at all levels rather than cower to any type of economic or political pressure. We are called to be Christ's hands and feet, the body of Christ to the world! We cannot allow our message be diluted or compromised. Our mission at Sarver Corporation is to BE THE ONE who brings hope to the hurting and God's Good News of Jesus Christ to those who need to hear. Still are we the one who will live this calling out in humility and purpose? I hope you can answer "yes" to this call!
